Making a Difference in 2021

2020 was a year like no other and we all hope that 2021 will be better.
Leaving aside the dominant circumstances, the pandemic and its painful consequences, much of what we're experiencing in our day to day lives is down to the people we interact with.
It's not always the macro issues that have the biggest direct impact on us.
That's because we experience the same circumstances in very different ways. Looking at 2020 and early 2021, we see that the harm the pandemic is causing is largely a factor of accident - what country we live in, what sector we work in, what age we are, how insulated we are from financial shock and how our family and friends have been impacted.
So, at the start of what we all hope will be a better, more hopeful year, what is a useful way to think about our impact on people and how we can contribute to others' experience of 2021?
I suggest we keep in mind two questions as we go through the year.
What kind of difference will I make?
When will I make that difference?
